Remember, the best way to stop snoring is with the Jaw Supporter. It’s based off the newest research on snoring and it is proven to work.

Wow, A Snoring Bootcamp

July 16th, 2009 Charles No comments

Well, I just have to say that I was laughing when I saw this one. In the UK they actually have a snoring bootcamp that is supposed to help people get over their snoring problems. Seems like more of a promotional thing for a solution for snoring. We all know that the Jaw Supporter is the only solution to this problem. It is the fastest working solution that requires only about 5 seconds of your time before you go to bed. I think that is the best way to go.

A Snoring Boot Camp has been organised by Helps Stop Snoring, makers of the UK’s leading snoring remedy, and organisers are hoping fed up sleepers in Aylesbury Vale and beyond will put their noisy partners forward after the area was under-represented in last year’s debut event.

Hundreds of applications were received from people at the end of their tether across the UK for last year’s Boot Camp, however, surprisingly, there were very few entries from people hoping to be helped in Bucks. Helps Stop Snoring is now offering snorers in the county a second chance to stand up and take orders at this year’s army-style Snoring Boot Camp.

Snoring Device That Works

July 15th, 2009 Charles No comments

I wanted to talk to you about the snoring device that works. It is the Chin Strap, also known as the Jaw Supporter, which will help take care of this problem for you. Typically when you go to sleep, your jaw falls open. That’s not to say that your mouth opens, but your jaw just becomes loose.

It is this looseness that leads to pressure being put on the throat area. It is this pressure that causes the throat to constrict in size. Simple physics will tell us as you breath, air will have to go at a much faster rate through the constricted area. This speed increases the amount of vibration and resonance of tissue in the throat and you end up making noise or snoring sounds.

The snoring device that works is the Chin Strap because it helps to hold the jaw up as you sleep. It keeps the pressure off the throat and makes it nearly impossible to snore.

Snoring & Trouble Sleeping? Seek Help

July 14th, 2009 Charles No comments

Many people have sleeping problems such as snoring, waking up during the night, falling asleep during the day, and consistently feeling tired. If these symptoms continue, do not ignore them–get help. They could be a sign of a disorder.

Two years ago Maggie Smith started snoring and having trouble sleeping. She did not worry about it until it progressively got worse. She started waking up during the night, and was short of breath. She finally visited the Lourdes Sleep Disorders Center, and the doctors found that she has sleep apnea.

This is a common disorder affecting 20% of the adult population, and it can cause long-term harm if left untreated. “It causes high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease. That’s an unusual thing to understand because we think snoring is normal– but it’s not,” says Dr. Matthew Abraham. Snoring results from constricted airways and is one of the first signs of sleep apnea.

One popular way to treat sleep apnea is to use a c-pap mask, which helps keep your airways open. Treatments like these are only found through a doctor, so it is best to seek professional help instead of trying to treat yourself.

Maggie says her visit to the center changed her life. “I sleep through the night, and have more energy during the daytime.”

Snore Score Winners Named

July 13th, 2009 Charles No comments

I’m sure you remember me mentioning the Snore Score before. It’s the snore contest where they give prizes based on how bad you snore. I always find these kinds of things funny, but you can win a prize where they do a complete medical analysis on your snoring problem. I know a lot of you guys don’t have the money to have such a thing done.

Here are the results:

FARMINGTON — It can be a real problem for some, but one man from Grafton is cashing in on his snoring skills.
Russell Rock is the winner of Fairmont General Hospital’s “Snore Score” contest.

Contestants like Russel sent in audio-recordings of themselves snoring, and Friday the winners were announced during a live radio broadcast at Alasky’s Furniture.

Fairmont General Hospital’s Sleep Lab teamed up with Magic 106.5 for the contest.

Rock received one thousand dollars worth of bedding from Alasky’s plus a free sleep study from Fairmont General Hospital.

A second winner was also named in the contest, Shelly Riley won the “People’s Choice” award and will also get a free sleep study from Fairmont General Hospital.

Organizers say the goal of the contest is to raise awareness about the dangers of sleep disorders.

“We want to have a little bit of fun but also to educate the community about how dangerous snoring can be-like stopping breathing. Sleep problems are a real problem for folks and it can affect the entire body,” said Rickie Harper with FGH’s Sleep Lab.

Silence Your Snore – Save Your Life

July 9th, 2009 Charles No comments

(HealthNewsDigest.com) – New York, NY – Snoring is often looked at as an annoying sleep problem that often effects one’s sleep partner more than themselves. According to experts, snoring can effect everyone, regardless of gender, age or race. It is a health problem that has created a multibillion dollar industry in order to stop it. The darker side to snoring is obstructive sleep apnea, which snoring is often an indicator of. Approximately 100 to 200 million Americans suffer from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), causing long-term health risks, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, and impotency. OSA is typically characterized by loud snoring, and is usually under diagnosed and often left untreated.

According to Dr. Daniel C. Smith, DDS, the founder of the new Focus Center for Sleep Apnea and Snoring, “a person suffering from OSA increases their risk of heart attack by 30%. Our goal is to provide our patients with the most comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of OSA available.” Dr. Smith founded the Focus Center for Sleep Apnea and Snoring with Dr. Kathleen Anderson, M.D. based on that fact that OSA has a solution with medical and dental treatments combined. For one of the first times in medical history, both specialties have come together to give the best solution for all people without a bias towards any one kind of treatment. Both doctors recognize that people are dying from OSA all too frequently, and with proper screening, education, and care, patients can lead a better quality of life.

Stop Snoring Tips

July 8th, 2009 Charles No comments

I have some stop snoring tips that you can use to help yourself lose that snoring problem you have. I know you’re driving someone crazy at night while doing it. For all I know you actually wake yourself up that you snore so loud. I’m going to help you know exactly which direction you need to go and exactly where you need to approach.

Roll Onto Your Side – It is really that simple. When you roll onto your side, gravity plays a different roll. Instead of gravity pulling loose tissue down into your airways, it pulls it to the side and out of the way. It’s about the easy snoring tip that you can apply because all you have to do is roll onto your side. If you want to make sure you’re always on your side during the night, sew a tennis ball into the back of a shirt. This way when you try to roll onto your back, you can’t.

Use a Jaw Supporter – A jaw supporter is another one of those great stop snoring tips that will eliminate this problem for you as fast as physically possible. It is a pretty device that holds the jaw up as you sleep. Click here to get it.

Dentist Devotes Practice to Snoring Problems

July 7th, 2009 Charles No comments

I thought that this was a pretty interesting news story. A dentist has dedicated his practice to helping people with their snoring problems. It isn’t that common to see a story like this, so I know I had to blog about it.

New York (PRWEB) July 7, 2009 — David Binder, D.D.S., “The Manhattan Dentist,” has dedicated his practice to public service, in the form of educating the public about the dangers of Snoring and Sleep Apnea. As a Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, Dr. Binder has been recognized for having special qualifications to treat Snoring and Sleep Apnea by offering Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) to his patients. Snoring and Sleep Apnea are dangerous afflictions that affect not only those who suffer, but the people around them and the general population. For more information, call (212) 753-0500.

For 17 years, Dr. Binder has recognized the enormity of the public health crisis created by the approximately 20 million people in the United States who are undiagnosed. Both conditions can be signs and causes of high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, diabetes, erectile dysfunction, and depression – not to mention daytime drowsiness, which can be deadly for drivers, pilots, passengers and others. “It’s a privilege to offer OAT to patients who previously suffered from these not-so-silent afflictions,” says Dr. Binder, “and the appreciation shown by those whose lives have been so markedly improved by OAT is quite gratifying.”

Youtube Video on Sleep Disorders

July 6th, 2009 Charles No comments

Every day, millions of Americans wake up to find themselves just as tired as when they went to bed. They are the victims of one or more of 84 different sleep disorders, such as insomnia and sleep apnea, which often results in heavy snoring, that keep either them or their loved ones from getting a good night’s rest.

Unfortunately, the problem is more than just a lot of noise, as Robert Capone, MD, medical director of the Sleep Disorder Center of Morristown Memorial Hospital, explains in this online video on Johnson & Johnson’s official YouTube Channel. Sleep apnea and other disorders can result in high blood pressure, heart disease, strokes and obesity as well.

At the Sleep Disorder Center of Morristown Memorial Hospital, sleep apnea makes up the bulk of the sleep disorders we treat. According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, 24 percent of men, nine percent of women and two percent of children have sleep apnea. However, about 80 percent of those who suffer from sleep apnea go undiagnosed.

Physicians and sleep technologists at the center can monitor sleep patterns and determine what disorder a patient has, and offer treatments such as CPAP, a special oxygen mask used for sleep apnea sufferers. Last year, the center performed about 3,000 sleep studies. The center has been in operation since 1991 and has been accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine since 1994.

The center has eight adult beds located at the Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute, at 95 Mount Kemble Avenue in Morristown, and four pediatric beds located at the Goryeb Children’s Hospital at 100 Madison Avenue in Morristown. The center is staffed by eight physicians who are board-certified in sleep medicine, and 14 registered sleep technologists, respiratory therapists and nurses.
