Top 5 Ways to Stop Snoring
A lot of people snore and most people don’t have the first clue on what they should. I thought I could give you 5 ways to stop snoring. That is 5 things that you can try and see how they go for you.
1. Sleep on your side
This is a relatively simple tactic that works quite well. Basically the reason that you snore is that loose tissue in your throat area falls into your airway. When you’re on your side, the tissue falls to the side and out of the way. This ends up relieving the snoring problem (as long as you stay on your side)
To help you stay on your side, try sewing a tennis ball into the back of your t-shirt. This way when you try to roll onto your back, the ball will be in the way and you’ll go back to your side position.
2. Lose Weight
I think it should be apparent that weight issues inevitably lead to a snoring problem. If you think about all the extra fat that is around your neck area, you will realize that it puts a lot of pressure on the throat area. The more pressure that you have in your throat, the more likely you’ll snore.
3. Avoid Alcohol
One of the main reasons that loose tissue gets into your airway is that your muscles are relaxed, but when you drink alcohol you cause muscles to relax even more. This causes more tissue to end up in the way and you end up with more vibrating tissue (snoring).
4. Follow a consistent sleeping schedule
Sometimes this is hard for a lot of people, but the benefits definitely help. If you go to bed at the same time every night and get up at the same time every morning, you can greatly reduce the chances of snoring. I know that it isn’t the most desired thing on the weekends, but it is something worth looking into.
5. Snoring Chin Strap
Something as simple as a chin strap can greatly help you stop snoring. When your mouth is held close, it actually causes the airway in your throat to open up. So using this snoring device can greatly help.
